The NY Hip Hop Report on BTR – Episode 019 [September 23, 2012]

For episode 019 of The NY Hip Hop Report, hosts Manny Faces and Steve Ortiz from Birthplace Magazine, spoke on several topics of interest regarding the NY hip hop scene, giving a recap of the inspirations behind the birth of BirthplaceMag.com, and as always, a rundown of NY-area hip hop area events from the past week and a preview of shows to come, including a passionate speech on the importance of attending local shows.

Of particular interest, a discussion on the use of Jay-Z’s “Brooklyn Go Hard” to promote the Jackie Robinson biopic “42” and a discussion on artists making noise such as the Brown Bag AllStars and Homeboy Sandman.
